Ramat Niseko owners at the lodge's red front door

OUR STORY · SINCE 2008

Still the friendliest lodge in Niseko.

Ramat Niseko is a family-owned lodge a short shuttle from the Hirafu lifts, still run by the same people who started it. Eighteen winters in, the thing everyone remembers is the welcome.

HOW IT STARTED

Two lodges, one idea.

It started with a mates’ ski trip in 2005. There was so much snow the army was out digging people free, drifts right up to the power lines, and none of us could stop raving about it once we got home.

The next winter I brought Mum and Dad over, and they loved it as much as I did. Dad, Alan, got hooked and started eyeing property, and somehow that holiday turned into two lodges. Mum, Sue, is the heart of the place, there for the people more than the powder, pottering about the lodge, learning names and drawing out everyone’s story. Eighteen years on, that’s still what Ramat runs on.

WHAT’S NEVER CHANGED

The same welcome, eighteen winters running.

The same family has run it from the start, so the people looking after you are the people who own the place. No management company in the middle.

Ramat Niseko first-tracks shuttle at the gondola

Straight to the lifts

The free morning shuttle has run since the early days, dropping you at the gondola. No 1km trudge in ski boots, just an easy early start.

Breakfast in the Ramat Lodge dining room

Fed and looked after

Breakfast every morning, a team that learns your name, and no front-desk theatre.

Guests laughing at the Ramat Lodge bar

A home away from home

The team who learn your name, the bar, the pool table and Friday CRUD Night. Strangers on Monday, mates by the weekend.

THE PEOPLE

The faces you'll get to know.

A family who run the place themselves, and the lodge manager who keeps it moving on the ground. By the end of the week, most guests know them all by name.

SNOW A YEAR

IN THEIR WORDS

“Definitely the best place to stay in Niseko. I have been coming here every winter since 2020, and there are many reasons why I keep coming back: the value, the location, the facilities, and last but certainly not least, the team.”

WHY THEY COME BACK

You arrive a guest. You leave a regular.

The powder is why people find Niseko. The people they meet at Ramat are why they book the same week next year, and the year after that. That’s the whole business, really: make it good enough that you want to come home.

Come and see why.

Two lodges, one very friendly bar, and eighteen years of practice.
